Hope you had a lovely birthday, Caroline! I have started to exchange getting less done in exchange for more relaxing evenings. It's very easy to blur lines between work and household/family duties as I write at home, but my energy isn't what it used to be. Life is too short to be burning the candle at both ends. Been there, done burn out...never again, thank you.
Thanks for the birthday wishes, Maria. I had a splendid time with my family.
Well done for making different choices and prioritising your wellbeing. Sometimes it helps to take a step back and look at not only the amount of stuff on the 'to do' list, but also at the nature of those tasks. I used to fall into the 'busy-ness' trap (and sometimes still do, until I have a blast of self-awareness and remember I don't do that any more 😄). I like the question in "The One Thing" by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan: "What's the One Thing I can do, such that by doing it, everything else will be easier or unnecessary?"

Gosh, I love this. Thank you. I'm going to try this! It also reminds me of what my therapist often asks me: "What can you let go of?"
