This post began life as advice for public speakers

I’ve done a fair bit of speaking at corporate events, conferences and the like. A few years ago, I put together some notes to help speakers create greater engagement with their audience and deliver value through stronger connection.

I came across the notes when looking for something last week and realised the guidance applies to any situation where we’re asking people to take a leap of faith and spend time with us, whether that’s signing up for our talk, tuning in to our podcast or reading our Substack.
