More Mindset: Audio Recording to Anchor Your Safe Place

An excerpt from last week's group-coaching session

Hi there,

I’m racing to get this off to you as my father had a TIA (known as a mini-stroke) early this evening. The ambulance paramedics were brilliant. They didn’t feel he would benefit from an eight-hour A&E experience tonight (we’ve had quite enough of those recently, thanks) so we’re spared that ordeal. I’ll take him to the GP tomorrow and arrange a referral to the TIA clinic.

I need to stay with Dad until he goes to sleep, so I’m afraid this means the article I originally had planned for you this week won’t happen.

I don’t want to leave you empty-handed so I’m including a short (less than 10 minutes) recording from last week’s group-coaching session. It’s a guided meditation on how to install a ‘safe place’ anchor – one of the simple techniques I walked you through in last week’s article, ‘3 Ways to Rapidly Shift Your Mental State’.

This technique can be an effective way to change state when you’re feeling low, anxious or overwhelmed.

I suggest you read (or reread) last week’s article, then listen to the audio. If you’re able to play it two or three times over the next few days, the messaging may embed more deeply and make the anchoring process more effective. I find last thing at night, just before I go to sleep, is a good time to listen to guided meditations as I’m more relaxed at that time.
